Happy 1st Birthday!

Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing So Hee's 1st Birthday! In Korea 1st birthday's are very special because 30 years ago babies did not make it to the age of one, so it is Korean tradition to throw a big bash to celebrate the 1st year of life for a child. It is almost as big as a wedding celebration.

The Birthday Girl! So Hee!

3 Generations

Cutting of the Cake with a SWORD!

A toast to So Hee! Happy 1st Birthday!

In Korean Tradition they put items such as a toothbrush (dentist), mouse (computer programmer),pen (scholar), rope (long life), money (wealthy), and a microphone (singer) on a tray and the which ever one the child gravitates towards that predicts there future.

SO HEE WILL BE A....DRUMROLLLL....

SINGER!

A great time was had by all! Family, Food, Laughter, Life! What more can you ask for??

Remember when your Grandma and everyone else used to pinch your cheeks??
